The first thing I thought about when I saw a way to control smart glasses from Meta was a scene from Alfonso Cuaron's Children of Men, where a dude controls some kind of futuristic device.

The film was released in 2006, and it tells about migration crises and the rise of authoritarian tendencies. Now it turns out that it's also about things that we'll use in the future.
